REFERNCES: PSALM 33:20-25, PSALM 40:1-5
Satan has never won or stood a chance before God. Evil has never prevailed over good. From the pre-Adamic era, Satan being Lucifer caused chaos which claimed many angels in heaven but some angels made it.
In the Adamic era, Satan deceived mankind took domino power and enslave mankind. He claimed Cain the son of Adam and killed Abel; but Adam and Eve made it. They held God firm and gave birth to God’s kind: Seth, and many others; including Enoch who walked with God till he taken by God.
In the era of Noah Satan usurped the mindset of mankind, perverted the God’s style of living by introducing unspeakable abominations as pattern of living. He provoked God to destroying the world. When God sent rain to flood away all creations, but Noah and his large family and two of every kind of animal which Noah could find made it.
Before the era of Abraham Satan took hold of Ham the son of Noah that he set up all forms of idolatry which affected his brothers Shem and Japheth and swept off the memory of God from them all but Abraham made it when he moved from Ur to the place God showed him by that, set up a unique relationship between God and mankind.
Satan capitalize of famine and wicked people to frustrate Isaac, he moved from place to place looking for settlement and when he found one the people instigated by Satan turned against him. He dugs wells and they took it from him. It was difficult for Isaac’s contemporaries to succeed at that time but Isaac made it. He became the wealthiest
Satan almost succeeded in using Jacob as his name meant ‘Deceiver’ until Jacob found God and became Israel. Though he struggled all through his youth to survive, he finally made it at when his son Joseph became great in Egypt.
Speaking of Joseph, Satan used his brothers to stop him from shinning; he suffered as a result and from prison were Satan dumped him he finally made it to the palace top position.
Satan was not happy that the Israelites were enjoying the grace upon Joseph, he stroke when Joseph died instigating the new Pharaoh to enslave the Israelites. As a result of the oppression, many Israelites lost their lives, but more than a nation made it.
As the chosen of the Lord, the Israelite were promised the Canaan, but Satan was not happy about that. He tried to stop them from reaching and entering the Promised Land by bringing forth many strong nations against them. Though many lost their lives, the Israelites made it to the Promised Land.
As time progresses; Satan also progresses in him effort to stop the children of God. He knew that God has a plan to restore dominion to his children and so he must keep fighting. One thing leads to another Satan thought he was winning until Jesus made it on the cross halleluiah!
Dominion and power are in our hands. But that doesn’t stop Satan from attacking. He attacked the gospel at the early state so that all mankind will not know of his downfall. Men of God like Apostle Peter, John, and particularly Paul didn’t find it easy being who they were because Satan fought. On one occasion the apostle Paul writes: “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NIV But the gospel made it.
As we celebrate the entrance to this New Year, here is what you should reflect on: how countless times Satan tried in the past to make you cease giving praise to the Most High, how he attacked your earnings, ruined your opportunities, scattered your finances, caused your to spend in unexplainable sickness, broke your heart, divide your united family, caused life to be difficult for you by instigating them on authority, frustrate your plans and dumps your prayer request and worst still took the lives of your beloved ones. Reflect on the scary reports of death, kidnappings, killings, wars, riots, and the out breaking of numerous dreadful diseases and pandemics. Reflect on the prophecies about you which you believed but didn’t come to pass, how much you have prayed and sowed yet nothing. How responsibilities flooded you towards what you never opted, how tough life was in the year that just past that you got worn-out. See that these are Satan pranks to uproot you from where the Lord has planted you. Then see how gracious God has been that in all these things you are here today. YOU MADE IT! Congratulations!
But remember that it’s not by your power that you made it. So give God the glory as you celebrate today and live your life glorifying God who brought you here.
If you must withstand Satan in this new round, deal with your past but don’t dwell on it. Cast all your burdens on God and set your eyes on the new things He is doing in your life.
WHICH YOU A JOYOUS NEW YEAR WITH PLENTIFUL VICTORY
